BUFFALO, N.Y.- The men's lacrosse team had a nonconference match-up versus SUNY Cobleskill. The Mavs lost 6-18 to put them at 0-6 on the season.

To start the game off, Colton Keane (Lafayette, NY, Lafayette) won the face-off with a ground ball pick-up. The Mavs went scoreless in the first quarter, unable to get an offense going. There were multiple shot attempts by Matt Kennedy and Keane, but they were unable to find an opening. At the end of the first quarter, the final was 0-4.

In the second quarter, the Mavs started to find their rhythm with a goal made by Kennedy. Quickly after Keane was successful with a goal assisted by Kennedy. With just under 2:30 left in the first half, Keane was able to score the third goal for the Mavs. With a minute left in play, Keane scored his third goal of the game, assisted by Kennedy. The score going into the second half was 4-8.

In the third quarter, goalie, Teddy Kurdziel (Depew, NY, Depew) was assertive bringing the ball up the field to finish clears. Kennedy and Keane got a few shots off each but were unable to find success against Cobleskill's defense. The quarter ended 4-12.

In the fourth quarter, the Mavs were able to get an offense going. Successful ball movement resulted in a goal from Keane. Lansana Kamara (Manhattan, NY, Iona Prep) played firm on offense and earned himself a goal shortly after Keane for the sixth goal for the Mavs. The final score of the game was 6-18.

Kurdziel made 12 saves in goal and had six ground balls. Keane had four goals and seven ground balls. Kennedy had two assists, one goal, and six ground balls.

The Mavs' next game is at home Saturday, April 9 at 12:00 p.m. against Hilbert College.
