WILLIAMSPORT, P.A. - The Medaille College men's lacrosse team traveled to Penn College Saturday morning for their United East Conference game. The Mavs were bested by the Wildcats 23-1.

The Wildcats were a tough opponent putting up eleven straight goals in the first quarter. Logan Filipiak (Strykersville, NY, Holland) took a shot but it was blocked as the Wildcats also played well defensively. Martin Romero (Syracuse, NY, Henninger) was busy in net making seven saves in the first.

In the second quarter, the wildcats added two more goals within the first five minutes. Colton Keane (Lafayette, NY, Lafayette) continued to battle on offense putting two shots on net before beating the goaltender with an assist from Matt Kennedy (Hamburg, NY, Frontier). The Wildcats responded with four more goals to go up 17-1.

The Wildcats stayed aggressive on offense picking up four goals in the third quarter and two goals in the fourth quarter. Keane attacked the net several times but was unable to find the back of the net.

Keane led the Mavs with one goal and three ground balls with one caused turnover. Kennedy picked up an assist and Lansana Kamara (Manhattan, NY, Iona Prep) had two ground balls. Romero made 16 saves in the loss.

The Maps will look to bounce back when they hit the road on Monday, April 25 for their conference game against Morrisville State College. The game starts at 4:00 P.M.
