MORRISVILLE, N.Y. - The Medaille College men's lacrosse team hit the road for their United East conference game against Morrisville State College on Monday evening. The Mustangs currently sit in first place in the conference and took down the Mavericks 28-4.

The Mustangs put the pressure on Medaille in the first quarter scoring eight goals. Colton Keane (Lafayette, NY, Lafayette) scored the first goal for Medaille with Matt Kennedy (Hamburg, NY, Frontier) grabbing the assist. Lansana Kamara (Manhattan, NY, Iona Prep) and Chris Newton (West Seneca, NY, West Seneca West) both forced turnovers in the first half. Kamara also made his mark after scoring in the second quarter. The Mustangs would lead 19-2 going into halftime.

Martin Romero (Syracuse, NY, Henninger) picked up multiple saves at the start of the third quarter but the Mustang offense continued to score. The third quarter ended with a 25-2 Mustang lead. Kennedy scored Medaille's third goal of the game and Keane scored again a minute later with Kennedy picking up the assist.

Kennedy finished with one goal and two assists with four shots on goal. Keane led with two goals scored and Kamara added one goal, one ground ball, and one caused turnover. Max Scott (Batavia, NY, Batavia) led the Mavs with three ground balls. Romero recorded 22 saves in the loss.

The Mavericks will return home on Saturday, April 30 to celebrate Senior Day against St. Mary's College of Maryland. The game is scheduled for 12:00 P.M.
