ERIE, P.A. – The Medaille College men's tennis team got their third conference win of the season over the Penn State Behrend Lions. The Mavericks won a close match, 5-4.
The Mavericks won four out of six singles matches. Pablo De Ramon won his second position match 6-4, 6-1. Ander Castillo won his fourth position match 6-0, 6-4. Ben Tubbs won a nail biter in the fifth position down early in the first set. He came back in the next two 6-4 and 12-10. Finally, Celso Juberias won his sixth position match 6-3, 6-3.
Rodrigo Fernandez and Castillo teamed up for the only Maverick win in doubles matches. In their second position, they won 8-6.
With this AMCC win, the Mavericks will go on to play Pitt-Greensburg for their final match of the regular season. They will play on Sunday, April 3. The Mavs will be home at the South Towns Tennis Club for a 4:00 p.m. start.
