HOUGHTON, N.Y. – The Medaille men's soccer team grabbed a win on the road over Houghton College. The Mavs shutout the Highlanders 2-0 which brings their overall record up to 4-3 on the season.
With less than five minutes into play, Maverick Defender
Joshua Bailey (Ipswich, England, Copleston) netted the first goal of the game assisted by
Joey Zachary (Lewistown, NY, Lewistown Porter) to take an early lead. The Mavs played very well defensively keeping the Highlanders to only five shots on goal the entire game.
Ander Castillo (Bilbao, Spain, Mater Dei Catholic) continued to be a threat on offense for Medaille with an unassisted goal late in the second half to secure a Maverick victory. Castillo took a team-high six shots with four on goal.

Dante Gesamondo (Lynnfield, MA, Lynnfield) earned the shutout win with five saves on the night. The Mavs outshot the Highlanders 13-10 with nine of the 13 shots on goal.
