BUFFALO N.Y- The men's basketball team lost 69-95 to Penn St. Altoona in their first conference match up for the season.
In the first half the Mavs came out to a rough start giving up multiple fast break opportunities that the Lions made sure to capitalize on.
Kendall McGill (Largo, MD, Largo) put up six points in the first half and grabbed three rebounds.
Daunte Wilcott (Erie, PA, Mercyhurst Prep) and
Dante Moultrie (Buffalo, NY, North Tonawanda) had five points each and Moultrie had three steals.
Despite the intensity of the Lions' offense the Mavs were able to force 12 turnovers and picked up five steals as a team. Medaille grabbed a total of 15 offense rebounds but were unable to convert the effort into points.
In the second half Altoona extended the score gap having a game high difference of 30 points.
Jaqwan Washington (Bryan, TX, Bryan) had five points and
Rodney Graves (Woodbridge, VA, Colgan) had 10 of his 14 points in the second half. The team fought hard until the final buzzer and look to bounce back for next game.
McGill and Wilcott both had five offensive rebounds for the game. Graves scored a total of 14 points and McGill had 13 points on the game. Moultrie had a total of five steals and nine points.
The men's basketball team plays next at Penn State Behrend on Saturday, December 11 at 4:00 p.m.
