ERIE, P.A. – After a 5-8 finish in last week's MOTIV Penguin Classic, the Medaille College women's bowling team responded in a big way on Saturday at the Mercyhurst University Invite. The Mavs finished day one with an impressive 4-1 record in five traditional matches.
The Mavericks won their first four matches to begin the day. Medaille beat Penn-State Behrend 813-691, Duquesne University 975-947, Roberts Wesleyan College 820-704, and Mercyhurst University 917-890. The Mavs came very close to grabbing their fifth win but fell short against Daemen College 886-896.
Sarah Radt (Orchard Park, NY, Orchard Park) led all Mavericks with total pinfall of 951. Radt's best game came against Dusqusne University where she rolled a 248.
Kendyll Jaskier (West Seneca, NY, West Seneca East) finished closely behind Radt with a total pinfall of 941.
Brianna Thurston (Sun Prairie, WI, Sun Prairie) also had a strong day knocking down 939 total pins.
The Mavs will look to continue their performance on Sunday for day two of the Mercyhurst University Invite.
