Women's Bowling Battles in Final Day of Tournament

Mavs Finish 5-8 in Penguin Classic

STRUTHERS, O.H. – The Medaille College bowling team fought hard in day three of the MOTIV Penguin Classic finishing in ninth place out of ten. The Mavs went 1-2 on the day in best of seven Baker matches.

The Mavericks squared off with Saint Francis University in the first match of the day. Despite a higher total pinfall (1214-1163), the Mavs lost 3-4 to the Red Flash.

Medaille continued to score high in total pinfall, but lost 2-4 to Arkansas State in their second match of the day.

In the third and final match of the tournament, the Mavs grabbed a win over Walsh University 4-3. Medaille saved their best performance for last with their highest total pinfall of the day.

Sarah Radt (Orchard Park, NY, Orchard Park) finished the day leading all Medaille bowlers with 776 total pins and a 19.89 average. Radt also finished 22nd out of 75 total bowlers. Paige Herndon (Toano, VA, Warhill) was very efficient for the Mavs with an 18.82 average and a 546 total pinfall. Taylor Strickland (Roslin, ON, Centre Hastings Secondary School) added an impressive 710 total pinfall good for an 18.20 average.

The Mavs move to 5-8 on the season and return to action on the road Saturday, October 23 to face Mercyhurst University.
