Mavs Take Silver at Daemen Classic

Radt and Strickland Named to All-Tournament Team

AMHERST, N.Y. – The Medaille College women's bowling team returned to action today for the final day of the Daemen Classic. The Mavs finished the tournament in second place with a 6-4 record while Mercyhurst University took first place.

Medaille finished with a total pinfall of 9,002 on the weekend averaging 180 a game. Sarah Radt (Orchard Park, NY, Orchard Park) and Taylor Strickland (Roslin, ON, Centre Hastings Secondary School) both were named to the All-Tournament Team for their efforts. Radt finished 2nd in the individual rankings with a 1,044 pinfall while Strickland finished 4th with a 1,017 total pinfall.

The Mavs battled in five Baker matches taking a tough 858-867 loss to D'Youville to start the day. In the second match, the Mavs bounced back with a win over Walsh 856-826. The Daemen College Wildcats edged out a 947-902 win over the Mavs in the third match. Against Pitt-Bradford, the Mavs took down the Panthers 796-748 before falling to Mercyhurst, 848-924.

Radt led the Mavs on day two with a 926 total pinfall for an 18.89 baker frame average. Kendyll Jaskier (West Seneca, NY, West Seneca East) came up big for the Mavs finishing with a 901 with an 18.77 average. Strickland knocked down 681 pins while Brianna Thurston (Sun Prairie, WI, Sun Prairie) took down 592.

The Mavs will travel to Pitt-Bradford to take on the Panthers on Saturday, March 19 for their next contest.
