BUFFALO N.Y. – The women's bowling team completed the first day of the Daemen Classic winning four out of the five games. The Mavs won against Pitt Bradford, Penn St. Behrend, Roberts Wesleyan, and Daemen.
In the first game against Pitt-Bradford,
Kendyll Jaskier (West Seneca, NY, West Seneca East) bowled a 233, followed closely behind was
Sarah Radt (Orchard Park, NY, Orchard Park) with a 232 total pinfall. The Mavs bowled an impressive team score of 1,061 compared to their opponent's 850. In the second match, the Mavs beat Penn St. Behrend 944-761. Radt was able to lead Medaille with a score of 235. Despite good efforts put in by
Taylor Strickland (Roslin, ON, Centre Hastings Secondary School) bowling 205 and
Paige Snook (Gaines, NY, Charles D'Amico) with a 204, the Mavs lost the third match to Mercyhurst 873-948.
In the fourth match, Strickland had a game-high of a 223 total pinfall and Radt trailed right behind with a score of 222. Medaille beat Roberts Wesleyan 947-880. In the final match of the day the Mavs beat tournament hosts, Daemen, 917-891. They were led by
Paige Herndon (Toano, VA, Warhill) with a score of 213 total pinfall.
Leaders for the day were Radt with a total pinfall of 1,044 and average of 208.8. This put her in 2
nd place for the day. Strickland had a 1,017 total pinfall on the day with an average of 203.40 placing her in 4
th. Jaskier recorded a 903 total pinfall with a 180.6 for 12
th place in the individual standings.
The Mavs will be continuing tomorrow for day two of the tournament at Lancaster Lanes.
