Mavs Win 2022 Medaille Brunswick Classic

Jaskier and Radt Named to All-Tournament Team

KENMORE, N.Y. – The Medaille College women's bowling team returned to action for day two of the 2022 Medaille Brunswick Classic. After finishing day one of competition with the highest total pinfall, the Mavericks continued their impressive performance for day two with five Baker matches. Medaille finished the weekend with the highest total pinfall of 9,296 and took home first place. This marks coach Walsh's first tournament win as the head coach of the women's bowling team. Kendyll Jaskier (West Seneca, NY, West Seneca East) and Sarah Radt (Orchard Park, NY, Orchard Park) were both named to the All-Tournament Team after finishing first and second in the individual rankings respectively.

The Mavs started strong in the opening match against Pitt-Bradford winning 950-853. Roberts Wesleyan took down the Mavericks in their second match with Medaille falling short, 887-914. Medaille was in for another close match with cross-town rival Daemen College. The Wildcats edged out a 947-923 win.

The Mavericks got back on track for their fourth match of the day beating Penn State Behrend 915-816. In the last match of the day, the Mavs fell to Mercyhurst University 903-1004. Despite going 2-3 on the day, the Mavericks put up high total pinfalls in all of their matches to hold on to their lead to be named the winners of the 2022 Medaille Brunswick Classic.

Radt led the way with a total pinfall of 1006 and a 20.53 average. Jaskier followed closely behind knocking down 897 pins with an 18.30 average. Mackenzie Smith (Burlington, ON, Dr. Frank J. Hayden Secondary School) had the second-best average on the day with a 19.60 which was good for 392 total pins. Paige Herndon (Toano, VA, Warhill) took down 682 pins while Paige Snook (Gaines, NY, Charles D'Amico) dropped 540 pins. Taylor Strickland (Roslin, ON, Centre Hastings Secondary School) got in on the action with a 501 total pinfall.

The Mavericks will face Daemen College in their next match on Saturday, March 5, and Sunday, March 6.
