KENMORE, N.Y. – The Medaille College women's bowling team jumped out to a strong start in the Medaille Brunswick Classic Invitational. The Mavs went 3-1 in day one of competition with wins over D'Youville, Mercyhurst, and Roberts Wesleyan while dropping their match against Penn State Behrend. The Mavs honored senior
Keonna Mack-Feggins (Binghamton, NY, Binghamton) on her career as a valued member of the Medaille bowling team.
The Mavs faced Penn State Behrend in the first match of the day. The Lions took the match 1008-954.
Kendyll Jaskier (West Seneca, NY, West Seneca East) recorded the high score for the Mavs with a 237 followed by
Taylor Strickland (Roslin, ON, Centre Hastings Secondary School) with a 203 total pinfall. In the second match, the Mavs got on the winning track taking out D'Youville 922-844. Jaskier grabbed the high score again with a total pinfall of 228 followed by
Sarah Radt (Orchard Park, NY, Orchard Park) with 223.
In the third match of the day, the Mavs took down Mercyhurst in a close match, 947-937. Jaskier continued to be a force for the Mavs recording a 257 total pinfall. The momentum continued for Medaille in their last match of the day with a 959-876 win over Roberts Wesleyan. Radt rolled a 223 and
Paige Herndon (Toano, VA, Warhill) followed closely behind with a 222 to lift the Mavs to victory.
Jaskier's 1,093 total pinfall (218.60 average) puts her in first place out of 49 bowlers in the individual standings. Radt takes the second place spot with a 1,011 total pinfall (202.20).
The Mavs will be back tomorrow for the final day of competition at Classic Lanes.
