Swimming and Diving Finish Up the 2022 Season at the Allegheny Empire Championship

Multiple Athletes Record Personal Best

WEBSTER, N.Y-The men's and women's swimming team completed their final day of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Championships located at the Webster Aquatic Center. The Mavs had two women qualify for finals.

For the women, Kadynce Brown (Rock Springs, WY, Rock Springs) swam a personal best in the 100 freestyle at a time of 1:15.06 coming in 25th place. Emily Duda (Holland Patent, NY, Holland Patent) also had a personal best swimming the 200 breaststroke in 3:19.69 coming in 17th place. Ashton Laird (Medina, NY, Medina) was also able to swim a personal best in the 200 backstroke in 2:42.08 earning herself 17th place. Both Laird and Duda earned themselves a place in the finals.

For the men, Jahnai Carr (Tobyhanna, PA, Pocono Mountain West) swam his personal best in the 100 freestyle in 1:00.52 being placed in 33rd place. Daniel O'Brien (Hamburg, NY, Hamburg) also swam his personal best in the 200 breaststroke in 2:35.73 coming in 24th place. Ethan Heim (Lockport, NY, Lockport) swam a season-best in the 200 breaststroke in 2:32.52 coming in 23rd place.

For the finals, Duda swam in the 200 breaststroke coming in 19th place swimming in a time of 3:21.02. Laird swam in the 200 backstroke coming in at 2:42.33 which placed her at 18th place.

The Mavs finish up the four-day meet coming in 10th out of 10 for both men's and women's. This will wrap up the 2022 season for the Mavs.
