WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. – The Medaille College women's tennis team won their first match after a three-match losing streak. The Mavericks won a conference match over the Penn State Altoona Lions, 7-2.
Emily Jablonski (Alden, NY, Alden) had a big win in her singles match. After falling behind in the first set, she went 6-1 and 10-8 in the second and third sets to pull off the win.
Jasmine Mott (N. Tonawanda, NY, Starpoint),
Hallie Dworzanski (N. Tonawanda, NY, Niagara-Wheatfield),
Kristina Hryshchuk (East Aurora, NY, Iroquois Central), and
Ali Richardson (Depew, NY, Maryvale) all won their singles matches as well. Mott and Dworzanski and Hryshchuk and Richardson won their doubles matches to solidify the team win.
"It was a great overall effort for our team," said head coach Ken White. "It was a great team win!"
The Mavs will host again tomorrow, September 19, for another conference match against Mount Aloysius College. The two teams will face off at 1:00 p.m.
