ELMIRA, N.Y. – The Medaille College men's golf team travelled to the Elmira Country Club for their match today. On a par 72 course, the Mavericks shot a team score of 406. The Mavericks finished eighth out of nine teams.

Today was the first match for newcombers Nick Carmichael (Ontario, NY, Wayne) and Bryce Smith (College Station, TX, A&M; Consolidated). In their first outing, Carmichael shot a 116 and Smith shot a 113. Both improved on the back nine.

Ben Tubbs (Painted Post, NY, Corning-Painted Post) shot a team low of 93 while Zach Barlow (Depew, NY, Depew) shot a 101 and Jake Justice (North Tonawanda, NY, North Tonawanda) with a 99.

The team will host a home match on Monday, September 20. They will play at the Diamond Hawk Golf Course at 1:00 p.m.
