BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Medaille College women's bowling team returned to action on Saturday for day one of the Medaille Brunswick Invitational. The Mavs found themselves at the top of the leaderboard with a record of 4-1, followed closely behind by Mercyhurst University at 3-2. All five matches were scored traditionally with tomorrow being scored using the Baker system.
The Mavericks won their first two matches of the day with a 1015-963 victory over Mercyhurst University, and a 925-851 win over Penn State Behrend. In their third match, the Mavs lost to Roberts Wesleyan College 931-940.
Medaille bounced back in their next two matches with wins against Pitt Bradford and D'Youville College. The Mavs beat the Panthers 961-854, and the Saints 955-924.
Kendyll Jaskier (West Seneca, NY, West Seneca East) was a consistent performer for the Mavs in every match. Jaskier finished with a team-leading 992 total pinfall.
Sarah Radt (Orchard Park, NY, Orchard Park) also continued to dominate for the Mavs with a total pinfall of 990. Radt had four of her five games with scores over 200.
Brianna Thurston (Sun Prairie, WI, Sun Prairie) added a total pinfall of 973 while
Taylor Strickland (Roslin, ON, Centre Hastings Secondary School) knocked down 948 pins.
The Mavs will look to continue their strong performance on Sunday for day two of the Medaille Brunswick Invite.
