Nicholas Cicero (Williamsville, NY, Williamsville South), freshman
Joshua Wolski (Amherst, NY, Amherst), and sophomore
Katherine Bobowicz (Clarence, NY, Sacred Heart Academy) traveled to Geneseo on Saturday to compete in the NCAA Division III Regional Championships. The course at the National Warplane Museum featured a wet men's 8k and women's 6k race, as the Mavericks powered through the elements to put up strong performances in their final race of the year.
The host team, SUNY Geneseo, took home first place in both the men's and women's races, proving themselves to be some tough competition. Bobowicz came in 113
th place overall for the women and crossed the finish line in 28:14. Cicero completed the 8k for the men in 30:16 (135
th), while Wolski finished in 32:45 (150
th).
The Mavericks will return several underclassmen next year and look forward to growing on their success in 2022 under Head Coach Dave Sardo.
