Khyshwaunna “Khee” Nance will be entering her first season as assistant coach for the Maverick’s.
Nance comes to Medaille from Ithaca College where she completed her Masters in Sports Psychology, while playing for their club women’s basketball team. During her time at Ithaca she held workshops and individual sessions with their track and field team, coaching them on the importance of mental performance in their sport. She conducted the same thing with Cornell University’s tennis teams as well. While getting her Master’s and teaching these workshops, she was also the assistant for Ithaca High School’s girls modified basketball team.
Before heading to Ithaca, Nance completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology, with a minor in athletic coaching, at The State University of New York at Fredonia. During her time at Fredonia, Nance was a member of their Women’s Basketball and their Women’s Softball team. She helped lead their basketball team to their conference semi-finals her first year with a 19-8 record, and the quarterfinals her second year with a 17-9 record. She was an influential player on both teams. Prior to Fredonia, she spent her first two collegiate years at Mercyhurst University as a member of their Women’s Softball team. She was a starter for their team during both her years there.
Khee is a Dunkirk, NY native where during her time at Dunkirk High School she held the record for most points among all other male and female basketball players at the school, as well as having her jersey number retired.
Nance is extremely excited to be a part of the Women’s team here at Medaille and can’t wait to see the success of not only this year’s team, but of the many teams to come.
