Kelly Broderick is entering her third season at the helm of the Medaille College Women's Basketball program.
In her first season as Head Coach, Broderick guided the Mavs to a 10-15 record and 8-10 in AMCC play. Despite a late season surge that saw the Mavericks finish in a three-way tie for fifth place in the regular season, the Mavericks season ended without a playoff berth due to a three-way tiebreak with Penn State Behrend and Mount Aloysius.
Medaille did finish the season strong, winning six of their last nine games including a five-game winning streak from January 23-February 6 that included a 69-66 win at eventual AMCC Champion Hilbert College.
In 2019-20, Broderick would help guide Morgan Kennedy to eclipse 1,000 points and the AMCC All-Conference team as a Third-Team selection.
Broderick joined the Medaille Athletic Department after a two-year stint at nearby Finger Lakes Community College. While at Finger Lakes, she posted a (46-13) record, going (22-9) in her first year (2016-17), taking the Lakers to the Mid-State Conference Finals. She followed that up with a (24-4) record in her second year in 2017-18, winning both the Regular Season and Tournament for the Mid-State Conference.
In 2016-17 she was named the Region III Coach of the Year and the Mid-State Conference Coach of the Year. She was tabbed the conference Coach of the Year again in 2017-18. Broderick also coached four all-conference players.
Before her coaching career, Broderick had a two-year career at Nazareth College which was preceded by a two-year career at Finger Lakes CC.
As a player at FLCC, her team made it to the MSAC (Mid-State Athletic Conference) Championship Game her first year and were Region 3 Quarter-Finalists both years. Broderick ranks eighth all-time in FLCC history in number of three-pointers made in a season. As a player at Nazareth, the Golden Flyers were Empire 8 Semi-Finalists both years.
