ALTOONA, PA - The Medaille College Men's Basketball team returned to action this evening in a road matchup with Penn State Altoona at Adler Arena.
The Lions (5-3; 2-1) AMCC entered the game red hot and Medaille (3-4; 1-1 AMCC) had no answer for the hot shooting Lions who shot an outstanding (50.7%) from the field en route to a (97-81) victory.
Altoona started the game on a (13-5) run in the opening four minutes, to build an early eight-point lead. By the thirteen-minute mark of the first half they worked that lead to as much fifteen points, going up (40-25) at the (7:19) mark on a three-pointer by Tre Brown.
Meghale Ford had a career-best (25) points in the loss.
The Lions entered the halftime intermission with a fourteen-point lead (55-41).
Following the break, the Mavericks tried to cut into the lead. The closest they would get in the second half was eight points at the (6:20 ) mark, on a layup by Kirk Hawkins making the game (82-74).
The Lions would cruise the rest of the way though, finishing the game on a (15-7) run, winning (97-81).
Altoona had a balanced attack, with six players reaching double-figures in points. They were led by Dequan Jackson who finished with (19) points on (8-16) effort from the field.

Meghale Ford (Laurel, MD, Theodore Roosevelt (DC)) Ford had a game high and season high (25) points and sophomores
Kirk Hawkins (Laurel, MD, Laurel) and
Jonathan Smith (Accokeek, MD, Clarion Area (PA)) both reached double digits in points with (16) and (10) respectively.
The Mavs will have a week off and look to bounce back next Saturday when they host La Roche College at the Sullivan Center. The game is scheduled to tip-off at 2:00 pm.
