BUFFALO, NY - The Medaille men's basketball team continued their strong play of late as they defeated Mount Aloysius (96-87) in an AMCC contest Saturday afternoon.

Medaille relied heavily on Sean Bellomo and Robby Seyler throughout the game and they delivered for their team. Bellomo finished the game with (26) points and (12) rebounds, including (5) offensive boards while Seyler finished the game with a game-high (27) along with (5) rebounds.

Both players shot the ball incredibly well as Bellomo hit on 11 of 15 from the field as Seyler hit on 12 of 15 from the field.

Things started off close for both teams as they battled back and forth through the first half. Both teams exchanged leads as Mount Aloysius jumped out to a quick six point lead in the first minute of the game while the Mavericks would pull ahead late to grab the halftime lead.

Turnovers were an issue for both teams though as Medaille turned the ball over (19) times, but head coach Mike MacDonald was proud of how his team responded.

"I thought we survived their pressure. They made us turn it over." he said.

This was a tough game for the Mavericks and they had a tough opening half but they made adjustments in the second half that really helped turn things around.

"Greenfield had a really good first half. I thought our defense was much better in the second half. We got a lot of good contributions from guys off the bench and Seyler really stepped up, especially with his defense." MacDonald stated following the game.

Other than Seyler and Bellomo, Jammal Coleman finished the game with (15) points and (5) rebounds while Chris Willingham added (12) points and (7) assists.

The Mavs (4-7, 3-1) will continue thier conference play next Saturday against Penn State-Altoona at 1 p.m. in the Sullivan Center.
