BUFFALO, NY – The Medaille College Men's Lacrosse team played host to the Mustangs of Morrisville State on Saturday afternoon, closing out the 2016 season against the number one team in the NEAC. The Mavericks never gave up, netting the final two goals of the game; however, it wasn't enough as Morrisville defeated Medaille (25-2).
Freshman Jake Rush and sophomore Adam Spider netted the goals for Medaille, as junior David Groves notched an assist as Medaille fell to (0-12) overall and (0-8) in the NEAC.
Groves finishes the season leading the Mavs in goals (15), assists (12), and points (27). Fellow junior Tony Cinotti also scored double digit goals (10); while Rush and fellow freshman Adam Brennan ended their first season with (7) goals apiece.
Defensively, senior Brandon Wroblewski finished 2016 with (63) ground balls and (35) caused turnovers, ranking ninth in the country in caused turnovers per game at (2.91). Cinotti and junior Connor Meier also finished the season with over (50) ground balls for the Mavericks.
In net, junior Seth Gregg stopped (102) shots and logged (620:32) of time on the field for the blue and gold.
