HAMBURG, NY – The Medaille College Men's Volleyball team took to the court for the final day of the regular season Saturday afternoon, just hours after clinching the top spot in the North Eastern Athletic Conference.

The Mavericks came into today's matches with Penn State-Altoona and Lancaster Bible having won (27) straight conference matches dating back to 2015, including winning the NEAC Tournament Championship. Medaille extended that streak to (29), defeating the Lions (3-0) and the Chargers (3-0) to complete conference play a perfect (16-0).

Match number one of the day saw the Mavs put in some extra work against the Lions of Penn State-Altoona. The Lions pushed Medaille to the brink in set number one, giving the Mavs all they could handle before they won (30-28). Medaille was able to get the job done with (25) in each of the final two sets, beating Penn State-Altoona (25-21) and (25-20) respectively.

Freshman Brad Schneider (Lockport, NY, Lockport) led the team with (10) kills, and also tied fellow freshman Matt Dempsey (Clarence, NY, Clarence) for the team lead in assists with (16). Pete McKelvey (Buffalo, NY, Canisius) (7), Sam Bloomberg (Lake Worth, FL, Park Vista) (6), Calvin Crosby (Pendleton, NY, Starpoint) (5), Jack Hagerty (Wheatfield, NY, Niagara Wheatfield) (5), and Nate Schneider (Lockport, NY, Lockport) (4) also had multiple kills for the Mavs as they improved to (22-9, 15-0 NEAC) with the win.

Medaille's final regular season match of the season came just hours later, as they defeated the Chargers of Lancaster Bible (3-0; 25-21, 25-14, 25-17). Medaille's defense stole the show in match number two, holding Lancaster Bible to just a (-.037) hitting percentage.

Bloomberg (2), Hagerty (2), and Nate Schneider (2) all had multiple blocks; while senior Joe Hacherl (Tonawanda, NY, St, Joseph's CI) had (10) digs as Medaille completed their undefeated NEAC season.

The wins this weekend secured that Medaille would have home court advantage for the second straight year, as they look to defend their NEAC crown in the Sullivan Center next weekend. Times and pairings will be made official later today, as the NEAC semifinals will be played on Saturday, April 9, with the finals concluding on Sunday, April 10.
