HAMBURG, NY – The Medaille College Men's Volleyball team were back in action on Tuesday night, traveling to Hamburg to take on the Hawks of Hilbert College. It was the third and final meeting between the two programs, and Medaille ensured a clean sweep with a (3-0; 25-20, 25-15, 25-19) victory.

The Mavericks came into tonight's contest riding a seven-match winning streak, hoping to extend it to eight while staying undefeated in NEAC play. Medaille played an outstanding offensive match against the Hawks, hitting for an impressive (.326) percent as a team, with their defensive play not far behind.

The only set in which Hilbert hit for a positive percentage was the first, and even then they were held just a (.171) hitting percentage as the Mavs completely stifled the Hawks offense.

Nate Schneider (Lockport, NY, Lockport) (11), Jack Hagerty (Wheatfield, NY, Niagara Wheatfield) (9), Calvin Crosby (Pendleton, NY, Starpoint) (6),Pete McKelvey (Buffalo, NY, Canisius) (6), and Brad Schneider (Lockport, NY, Lockport) (5) all finished the evening with at least five kills as Medaille wrapped up a (3-0) season sweep of Hilbert without dropping a set.

Brad Schneider paced the Mavs with (22) assists and Matt Dempsey (Clarence, NY, Clarence) chipped in with (11) of his own. Defensively four different Mavericks had at least five digs; while five had at least two blocks, including a team leading (4) by Sam Bloomberg (Lake Worth, FL, Park Vista).

The win improved Medaille to (16-7) overall and (11-0) in conference play, as they now look forward to a match up against the Spartans of D'Youville College on Thursday, March 17.
