AS A JUNIOR (2015-16): Appeared in (22) games for Medaille during his junior season, making (19) starts. Led the team in points per game (15.5), total steals (46), and steals per game (2.1). His (2.1) steals per game ranked (58) in the nation. Belton’s (3.74) assist turnover ratio not only led the AMCC, but was also third best in the entire country, just (.13) behind first in the country. Shot (.502) percent from the field, going (119-237) overall. Was also first on the team in three point percentage for players who attempted more than (15) three’s, connecting on (46.5) percent from beyond the arc. Went (83-104) from the free throw line, for a free throw percentage of (79.8) and a new career high. Scored double digit points in (18) games, dropping a season high (27) against Hilbert College on January 21. Had a season high (7) steals in the season opener against SUNY Geneseo on November 14. For his efforts, Belton was named to the AMCC All-Conference Second Team for the first time in his career.
AS A SOPHOMORE (2014-15): Appeared and started in 26 games for Medaille last season as a sophomore. He finished fourth on the team in scoring last season with (260) total points, and 10.0 points per game; while ending the 2014-15 campaign second on the team in assists (56) and assists per game (2.2). Belton scored double-digit points on 13 separate occasions last season, including a season-high 23 in the AMCC championship game on February 28 against Hilbert College.Â
BEFORE MEDAILLE:Â AS A FRESHMAN (2013-14):Â Johnathan Belton played at Buffalo State as a freshmen appearing in (19) games, making (1) start. Â On November 23rd against John Carroll he scored a career high (10) points.
HIGH SCHOOL: 2013 All-WNY 3rd Team and NTSSWA All-State 7th Team. Earned
Amherst Bee Most Valuable Player during senior year. 1st Team All-ECIC, as well as ECIC III Player of the Year in 2013.
PERSONAL: Son of Michelle and Glenn Belton. Has two siblings named Cierra and Glenn. Born on November 17, 1995 in Guam. A graduate of Amherst High School, majoring in Criminal Justice. Â
