Abbigail Doherty (Clarence, NY, Clarence) has been selected for this honor while Penn State Behrend volleyball player JP Goodsel represented the men's side. Doherty and Goodsel were chosen from among 18 outstanding student-athletes named to the AMCC All-Academic Team, earning the prestigious honor after a successful four years in the classroom, in the community, and in their respective sport.
Doherty graduated in the spring of 2022 with a 4.0 in Psychology. She was a member of the Dean's List, the AMCC Academic All-Conference Team, and was an AMCC Peak Performer all four years of her college career. Doherty was inducted into the Chi Alpha Sigma National Student-Athlete Honor Society in 2020, while also earning the Medaille Medal in 2020. On the softball field, the catcher served as a team captain since the fall of 2019. She earned AMCC second team all-conference honors in 2021 and was a three-time recipient of the Team First Award (2020, 2021, 2022). She was named to the AMCC All-Sportsmanship team in 2020. Doherty was President of the Medaille Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and a member of the Medaille College Honors Program. She was accepted to the Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program at Medaille College, where she will begin in the Fall of 2022.
