BUFFALO, N.Y. - Medaille College Athletics has announced men's volleyball outside hitter Matt Dickerson (Lockport, NY, Starpoint) and softball pitcher Kaitlyn Alguire (Forestville, NY, Forestville) as the Athletes of the Week for the week of March 21 - March 27.



Dickerson led the Mavs to a 3-0 week in AMCC play, including a big five-set victory over Geneva. Dickerson averaged 3.64 kills per set and earned a .348 hitting percentage. He totaled 40 kills, two assists, four aces, 29 digs, and seven blocks. His best game was against Mount Aloysius where he had 11 kills averaging 3.67 kills per set with a .500 hitting percentage. He added one ace, eight digs, and three blocks, as well. Dickerson also had a strong match against Geneva, where he recorded 18 kills (3.60 k/s), nine digs, four blocks, three service aces, one assist, and recorded a .349 hitting percentage against the Golden Tornadoes.



Alguire pitched a total of 19 innings, starting two games and appearing in two other games. She allowed 29 hits while getting eight strikeouts while being credited with two wins. She averaged 2.95 strikeouts per seven innings. She also had a 5.16 ERA. Her best game of the week was against Elmira where she came in in the fourth inning allowing no hits with four strikeouts. Her ERA for the game was 0.00.
