BUFFALO, N.Y. – Medaille College men's soccer forward, Ander Castillo, has been named the 2021-22 NCAA Division III statistical champion in goals per game.
The freshman from Bilbao, Spain had an incredible first collegiate season. Not only did he earn 2021-22 NCAA Division III goals per game champion, but he was both Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Newcomer of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year.
Castillo started all 17 games he played in this season scoring 25 goals, leading the AMCC and NCAA. He tallied 132 shots, 70 of those on goal, with three assists, and seven game winning goals. Castillo finished the season with 53 points. He won the NCAA award with a 1.47 goals per game average.
