PITTSBURGH, P.A. – The Medaille women's tennis team played in their first match of the season against the La Roche University Redhawks. The Mavericks swept the day, 9-.0
The Mavs had a very strong showing in the opening match of the season.
Jasmine Mott (N. Tonawanda, NY, Starpoint) was the leader of the day with a 6-4, 6-2 win to start the flow.
Kristina Hryshchuk (East Aurora, NY, Iroquois Central),
Ali Richardson (Depew, NY, Maryvale),
Emily Jablonski (Alden, NY, Alden), and
Arianna Lysiak (Cheektowaga, NY, Maryvale) each went 6-0, 6-0 in their singles matches.
In doubles, Mott and
Hallie Dworzanski (N. Tonawanda, NY, Niagara-Wheatfield) got the win with a score of 8-2. Hryschuk and Richardson got their win with a score of 8-0, and Jablonski and
Zea Dutton (Niagara Falls, NY, Niagara Falls) won 8-0 as well.
Head Coach Ken White describes today's win as, "a total team effort!"
